a) Device & Identity
b) Push Notification Token (FCM)
To deliver "Daily Verse" push notifications, we collect your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. This token is device-specific, anonymised, and stored securely in our Supabase database. It is used solely to deliver notifications you have opted into.

d) Background Task Scheduling
The App uses Android WorkManager / local scheduling to run reminders such as Daily Verse and engagement notifications. These tasks run on your device and are used only to deliver opted-in reminders. You can disable notifications any time in App Settings.
e) Media Saved to Gallery
When you choose to save a verse card image or video to your device gallery, the App requests access to your media storage. We only write the file you explicitly requested — we do not read, scan, or upload any existing media from your gallery.
f) User Activity & Streak Data
The App locally tracks your daily usage streak (consecutive days of opening the App) and quiz completion status to power the Engagement Strip on the home screen. This data is stored exclusively on your device and is never uploaded to any server.
g) AI Chat
Your text query is sent to our backend (Supabase Edge Function) to generate a response. The message is processed transiently and is not stored server-side after the response is returned. Chat history is stored on-device for app functionality only. We do not sell your personal data.
h) Audio Bible & Screen Wake-Lock
When using the Audio Bible feature, the App requests a temporary screen wake-lock to keep your device display on while scripture is being read aloud. This wake-lock is automatically released when audio playback stops or is paused. No data is collected or transmitted as part of this feature.
i) Song Favourites & Local Preferences
When you star a song as a favourite, the selected song ID is saved exclusively on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data is never uploaded to any server, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than displaying your personal favourites list within the App. Favourites are removed when you clear app data or uninstall the App.
j) In-Memory Song Title Cache
When you open the Songs section, the App fetches all song titles from our Supabase database and stores them temporarily in device memory (RAM) for the duration of your current session. This allows instant local search without repeated network requests. This in-memory data is cleared automatically when the App is closed or the session ends and is never written to disk.
k) Quiz Question Deck (Local Progress Tracking)
To ensure quiz questions are never repeated across sessions, the App stores a locally shuffled list of question IDs and a cursor position on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data (approximately 20–30 KB) is kept entirely on your device and is never uploaded to any server or shared with any third party. The deck is automatically reshuffled with a new random order once all questions have been seen.
l) Quiz Reward Economy (Coins, XP, Lives, Power-ups)
The App maintains a local reward system to track your quiz progress. The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Android SharedPreferences and is never transmitted to any server:

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation, or by resetting your Advertising ID.

This app is rated for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is not directed at children. Advertisements are configured via AdMob as non-child-directed. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at oswaldstack@gmail.com, and we will review and delete data where legally required.

All local data (quiz progress, coins, XP, lives, song favourites, reading streaks) is stored only on your device and is permanently deleted when you clear app data or uninstall the App.
We implement commercially reasonable security measures including HTTPS encryption for all network communication, Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) for database protection, and no plaintext storage of sensitive credentials.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance.
