b) Push Notification Token (FCM)
To deliver "Daily Verse" push notifications, we collect your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. This token is device-specific, anonymised, and stored securely in our Supabase database. It is used solely to deliver notifications you have opted into.

d) Background Task Scheduling
The App uses Android WorkManager / local scheduling to run reminders such as Daily Verse and engagement notifications. These tasks run on your device and are used only to deliver opted-in reminders. You can disable notifications any time in App Settings.
e) Media Saved to Gallery
When you choose to save a verse card image or video to your device gallery, the App requests access to your media storage. We only write the file you explicitly requested — we do not read, scan, or upload any existing media from your gallery.
f) User Activity & Streak Data
The App locally tracks your daily usage streak (consecutive days of opening the App) and quiz completion status to power the Engagement Strip on the home screen. This data is stored exclusively on your device and is never uploaded to any server.
g) AI Chat
Your text query is sent to our backend (Supabase Edge Function) which forwards it to the Google Gemini AI API to generate a response. The message is processed transiently and is not stored server-side after the response is returned. Chat history is stored on-device (SQLite) for app functionality only. We do not sell your personal data. Each session is rate-limited to preserve fair usage.
h) Audio Bible & Screen Wake-Lock
When using the Audio Bible feature, the App requests a temporary screen wake-lock to keep your device display on while scripture is being read aloud. This wake-lock is automatically released when audio playback stops or is paused. No data is collected or transmitted as part of this feature.
i) Song Favourites & Local Preferences
When you star a song as a favourite, the selected song ID is saved exclusively on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data is never uploaded to any server, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than displaying your personal favourites list within the App. Favourites are removed when you clear app data or uninstall the App.
j) In-Memory Song Title Cache
When you open the Songs section, the App fetches all song titles from our Supabase database and stores them temporarily in device memory (RAM) for the duration of your current session. This allows instant local search without repeated network requests. This in-memory data is cleared automatically when the App is closed or the session ends and is never written to disk.
k) Quiz Question Deck (Local Progress Tracking)
To ensure quiz questions are never repeated across sessions, the App stores a locally shuffled list of question IDs and a cursor position on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This data (approximately 20–30 KB) is kept entirely on your device and is never uploaded to any server or shared with any third party. The deck is automatically reshuffled with a new random order once all questions have been seen.
l) Quiz Reward Economy (Coins, XP, Lives, Power-ups)
The App maintains a local reward system to track your quiz progress. The following data is stored exclusively on your device using Android SharedPreferences and is never transmitted to any server:
m) Bible Reading Progress, Highlights & Notes
The App stores your Bible reading progress (which chapters you have marked as read), verse highlights (colour codes), personal notes, and bookmarks exclusively on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server and is permanently deleted when you clear app data or uninstall the App.
n) Church WiFi Presenter
The Church Presenter feature creates a temporary local HTTP/WebSocket server on your device so that other devices on the same WiFi network can display Bible verses and song lyrics on a projector or screen. To do this, the App reads your device's local network IP address. This IP address is:
o) Language Preference (Tamil / English)
Your UI language preference (Tamil or English) is stored locally on your device. This setting is never shared with any server or third party and is used solely to display the App interface in your chosen language.
p) In-App Updates
The App uses Google Play's In-App Update API to check for and download new versions. This process is handled entirely by Google Play and follows Google's standard privacy practices. We do not collect any additional data as part of this process.
q) Multiplayer Quiz Tournament
The App includes a Multiplayer Quiz Tournament feature that connects to a separate web application (quiz.oswaldstack.com) via an embedded WebView. To participate, you may choose a temporary display name and avatar. This data is managed by the tournament server for the duration of the match. Your placement, score, and earned coins are securely communicated back to the App via a local JavaScript channel to update your local balance. The tournament server does not collect or link this data to your personal identity.
The App serves advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to serve contextually relevant ads. Ads shown include:
Ad content is configured with a maximum rating of "Teens" (T) — adult content ads are blocked. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation, or by resetting your Advertising ID.

This app is rated for a general audience (13+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is not directed at children. Advertisements are configured via AdMob as non-child-directed, with a maximum ad content rating of "Teens" (T). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at oswaldstack@gmail.com, and we will review and delete data where legally required.

All local data (quiz progress, coins, XP, lives, song favourites, reading streaks, Bible annotations, language preference) is stored only on your device and is permanently deleted when you clear app data or uninstall the App.
We implement commercially reasonable security measures including HTTPS encryption for all network communication, Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) for database protection, and no plaintext storage of sensitive credentials. The Church Presenter operates entirely on your local WiFi network and does not expose any data to the internet.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance.
